A Roof Over Our Heads

Dear Family and Friends, Partners in Ministry,

Merry Christmas!!! Where has this year gone?!? We hope that you are doing well and that this Advent Season is filled with Immanuel-God with us-and with you!

Some of you have heard that Roberta and I (The Creamers) are having to move out of our current house. Our landlord told us in late September that he had to sell the land and home that we have been renting since graduating seminary. The land was auctioned in October and sold. We began immediately searching for another place to rent within reasonable driving distance of my primary source of income-the GM Plant- but still accessible to the Arabic Language networking and International outreach around Greater Nashville and Middle TN in which I minister. Though the Lord has not granted us a permanent call, Roberta and I have been pursued and encouraged in these ministries. We sense his leading for us to stay in this area at this time, help lead with these ministries, supplement our support through Matt’s work at the plant, and continue to use the gifts and education He has given us. We’re so thankful for all of you who have prayed for us and supported us financially.

In the Lord’s timing, it is impossible to find a house to rent in our area for under $1,400 per month-more than twice what we have been paying! The GM Plant is expanding so rapidly that property values are appreciating exponentially and rental properties are scarce.

To our surprise, we found that it is cheaper, and easier to buy in our area right now. Also to our surprise, we do qualify for a small mortgage with payments even cheaper than we have been paying in rent!

Our problem is that, because of our several medical situations over the past few years, we have been unable to put anything aside for a down payment (or even a deposit on a rental property if an affordable one became available).

We are looking for houses around Columbia/Eastern Maury County TN. This will also open new doors for us to more easily minister alongside Pastor David Carrera at Beth Sar Shalom, a Reformed Hispanic Congregation in Shelbyville, TN. Pastor David is interested in planting an English speaking/International Church out of the existing Spanish speaking congregation. Ironically, thousands of Syrian refugees are soon to be relocated there in addition to the Arabic speaking community already present in Shelbyville. This would enable me to participate in English Language Church Planting and continue reaching out to the Arabic speaking residents of Middle TN.

For the houses in the price-range at which we are looking, will need approximately $3,500 for the down payment, $3,000 for the closing costs, and approximately $3,000 to make the house livable to move in (new flooring, patching and painting walls, and grading the worn driveway). These are rough estimates at this point, but realistically we will need between $5,000-$9,000.

We are asking that you prayerfully consider helping us put a roof over our heads! Checks can be made out to N2N-the agency through which our support is channeled. If you would simply like to give a gift without necessarily claiming the tax credit, the fastest, most direct way is donating through the paypal account on my website matthewcreamermusic.com (If you choose that method you will be some of the first to support us that way ). And enjoy the free music downloads!
